Carrie + Dennis + Etta + Ellis at Home

I first met Carrie + Etta at the super fun Mother’s Day Pop Up hosted by Martha McQuade, so it was extra fun to be able to see them again, this time at their home, and to also get to meet the rest of the family since Etta is now a big sister to sweet little Ellis.

I try to make every photo shoot location mean something to the family and have a purpose in itself, instead of just being a pretty backdrop, and there’s nowhere more personal than your own home. I love how instantly special it makes the photos feel when you’re looking back on them years later after your kids have changed their entire rooms or all of you have moved on to a new home and you get to have these images as a visual time capsule of the house you became a family in.
