Fall Family Portraits by Lake of the Isles
As we get later into fall here in Minneapolis the weather can be a complete gamble, as all Minnesotans know. Sometimes we have The Great Halloween Snowstorm of ‘91 and sometimes we’re having a picnic with our family next to Lake Nokomis with the sun beaming down on us, with not a care in the world.
There was some pretty crazy weather leading up to this family portrait session and I was checking the weather constantly to see if we were going to get completely rained out or if we could make it all work.
As is usually the case (thank you weather luck!), as I was driving around Lake Harriet the rain stopped and just as I parked by Lake of the Isles the skies parted and not only did we have dry weather, but we had that magic post-storm sunset light and the holiday cards were saved. ;)
Fall is definitely the most popular time of year for holiday photos and sessions are generally booked by early summer (I know. I’m a procrastinator, too, but we can do this!), so if you’d like to check that box early this year just jump over to the contact page and send us a message or sign up for the newsletter to be the first to hear about the latest news + updates.
