Friendsgiving on Madeline Island

Most of these friends are photographers or designers and fall is the very busiest season of the year for all of us, where the days are long, nobody has time to talk to eachother, let alone actually meetup and we most resemble zombies. Knowing that was coming, this summer we decided to block off the weekend before Thanksgiving to all get together at a house on Madeline Island, put down our phones and computers and just enjoy life together.

Mission. Accomplished.

Side bar: I've been trading my digital camera for film more and more frequently (and Loving. Every. Second. Of. It.). These are all unedited film scans and, for the photo nerds (and for my own memory), the 35mm is Portra 400 and the Holga 120 shots are Portra 160.

This is the partial story... of nine friends... deciding to go to a house... laugh together and have their lives photographed... to find out what happens... when people stop looking at their phones... and start getting real...The Real World; Madeline Island.

These photos have also been featured on Beyond the Wanderlust.
